What is the NEET UG 2026 Exam City Intimation Slip?

If you just heard about this and you're wondering what it means – don't worry, we've got you covered. The Exam City Intimation Slip is basically NTA's way of telling you which city your exam centre will be in, a few weeks before the actual exam.

This is not your Admit Card. Your Admit Card – which has your roll number, exact centre address, photo, and exam day instructions – will come out separately closer to the exam date.

The purpose of releasing the city slip early is simple: so you can plan your travel and accommodation in time. Especially for students who are appearing from a different city or state, this notice is very helpful.

🚨 Remember: The Exam City Intimation Slip = City info only. Admit Card = Your actual entry pass for the exam hall. Never confuse the two.

After Your NEET UG 2026 Result – Know Your MBBS Admission Options

Most students only start researching colleges after results are out – and then lose precious time during counselling. The smart approach is to understand your options now, so you can act the moment results are declared.

Here is a quick overview of every MBBS admission route in India:

1. Government Medical Colleges – All India Quota (AIQ) Counselling

MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) conducts AIQ counselling for 15% seats in all government medical colleges across India. AIIMS, JIPMER, and AFMC are also covered under AIQ. This is the most competitive route and requires a very high NEET rank.

Read our full guide: NEET UG 2026 All India Quota Counselling Guide

2. Government Medical Colleges – State Quota Counselling

The remaining 85% seats in government colleges go through state-level counselling. You must apply separately in your home state. Each state has its own cutoff, registration dates, and process.

Find your state's counselling guide:

3. Deemed University MBBS – MCC Deemed Counselling

Deemed universities like KMC Manipal, Amrita, SRM, Sri Ramachandra, and Hamdard Delhi conduct admissions through MCC Deemed counselling. These seats are highly competitive but offer excellent infrastructure and clinical exposure. Fee structures are higher than government colleges.

Important: All deemed university seats – including management quota seats – are filled through MCC Deemed counselling. Deemed universities do NOT appear in state counselling lists.

4. Private Medical Colleges – Management Quota

If you score a qualifying NEET score but miss out on government or deemed seats through counselling, management quota in private medical colleges is a strong option. These seats allow direct admission and are available even after the main counselling rounds end.

5. MBBS Abroad – For Students Who Want More Options

Many Indian students choose MBBS abroad after NEET qualifying scores, particularly in Nepal, Bangladesh, Russia, and Georgia. These colleges are NMC-approved and FMGE-eligible. The cost is significantly lower than Indian private colleges.

Expected NEET UG 2026 Cutoff – What Score Do You Need?

While the official cutoff will only be declared after results, here is a general idea based on previous years to help you plan:

NEET UG 2026 Expected Cutoff – Category Wise (Indicative)
Category Expected Qualifying Percentile Expected Qualifying Marks (out of 720)
General / UR50th PercentileApprox. 130–145+
OBC / SC / ST40th PercentileApprox. 105–120+
General – PwD45th PercentileApprox. 118–130+

These are qualifying cutoffs. For government MBBS admission, you typically need 550+ for top colleges. For private/deemed colleges, 400–500 is often sufficient. Use our NEET UG 2026 Marks vs Rank Predictor for a more accurate estimate.
